Rotary Club of East Coast Bays (Rotary website: rotary.org.nz)
Rotary was founded in 1905 as the world's first service club and now has a membership of over 1.25 million people in 31,000 clubs in 164 countries.

The Rotary Foundation is the largest independent charitable trust in the world providing some US$90 million for international scholarships, and humanitarian projects such as eradication of polio, preventing drugs abuse and AIDS, RAM (Rotary Against Malaria) and promoting literacy.

Within New Zealand, Rotary initiatives established Karitane/Plunket, Milk in Schools, Crippled Children Society, Mobile Blood Transfusion Service, National Society on Alcoholism, Outward Bound, National Child Health Research Foundation and DARE Foundation of NZ.

From small seeds sown in Rotary and using business talents these amazing services came into reality.

Rotary encourages the adherence to the following work ethics known as "The 4 Way Test".

1. Is it the TRUTH?

2. Is it FAIR to all concerned?

3. Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIP?

4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?

We hope that one day you will be able to say that during your time in Rotary you helped to establish some equally notable NZ social services initiative.
