Youth Generation Service
The Local Projects Committee is responsible for youth activities within the local community and liaison with local schools to ensure pupils have the opportunity to participate in Rotary youth programmes - with those marked with * below.
The International Committee is responsible for liason with local schools to ensure pupils have the opportunity to participate in Rotary International youth exchanges - with those marked with # below.
Specifically The Local Projects Committee together with the International Committee will Support the following District Youth programmes:
- * Rotary Youth Leadership award (RYLA) by seeking 2 candidates.
- * Model United Nations Assembly (MUNA) by giving support to Rangitoto and Pinehurst Colleges.
- # International Youth Exchange (IYE) by hosting one incoming student and sponsoring one outgoing student.
- # Short Term Exchange Programme (STEP) by seeking at least one incoming and one outgoing student.
- * Challenge Camp by seeking at least one candidate for Challenge 2011
- * Rotary National Science and Technology Forum (RNSTF) by seeking up to 2 candidates to attend.
- # RANZSE - NZ/Australian short term exchange to Australia by selection of 1 student and arranging reciprocal student to be hosted by outgoing student's family
- * Rotary Youth Driver Awareness (RYDA) - in conjunction with Community committee, assist and part sponsor the Rangitoto year 11 students to attend this training
- * Invite the Pupuke Rotaract Club to participate in ECB Rotary projects and meetings, and continue with the club's support of them and their activities.
- * Projects relating to youth may be referred to the Local Projects Committee and International Committee.
